Shipping an Amplifier or Cabinet to MESA/Boogie®
If sending an amplifier in its cabinet or a cabinet to us for service, it would be best to send it in its original MESA box & packing material. Should you not have the original box & packing material:
- Choose a thick, sturdy cardboard box to pack in (allowing for at least six inches of "crush space" between the product and the inside of the cardboard box).
- Suspend the amp or cabinet within the box using foam corner inserts or pack the amplifier using plenty of tightly wadded up newspaper so there is at least six inches of "crush space" between the cabinet and the inside of the cardboard box. Bubble wrap may also work for suspending your amp or cab but please DON'T use styrene peanuts. They will shift during transit, get lodged inside the electronics and allow your amp to end up unprotected at the bottom of the box where it may possibly be damaged.
- Tape the box closed using quality packing tape. Put several strands of tape across box flaps & seams to ensure the package does not open during transit.
- Write the RMA# (you’ve requested & obtained) in large black letters on the outside of the box. Click here for information on requesting a RMA#.
